November 8, 2010 Chuatemoc, Chihuahua

Elder Diaz & Elder Robertson- Chuatemoc, Chihuahua

Dear Mom & Dad- I am now serving in Chuatemoc, Chihuahua and my companion is Elder Diaz from Hildago. I traveled to Chihuahua by myself first to Mexico City and then to Chihuahua. Two missionaries along with President and Sister Angulo picked me up. They are awesome. He has only been Mission President for 5 months or so. My new area is really big and it's a lot colder here. I will be fine here. I know you worry about me. I'm in a good area with a great companion. Right now I'm working hard to find investigators. I want to be the best example. This has been an amazing experience.

President Hansen told me that I am also representing the Veracruz Mission as well as my name and Jesus Christ. And he said it in almost tears. Well, I know I had tears. And mom, he said to continue to comment on the blog and that my picture will show up from time to time. Hermana Hansen told me to keep in touch and they will keep up with how I'm doing through the my blog. The other missionaries just told me to keep it up and to be the best missionary in Chihuahua. The secretaries, assistants and President & Hermana Hansen took me to the airport. I love them and will miss them. But, I am now focused on being the best missionary & example in Chihuahua.

So glad to hear that Colton is in the MTC and loving life! He is going to be an amazing missionary. Please send me any pictures of Colton before he left. Also, I need a CTR ring please. (we think he gave his other CTR ring away)

Love to all my family, ward family, stake family & friends-
Elder Robertson

November 1, 2010- "A Mission Call Anywhere is to Teach"

Colonia Juarez Chihuahua LDS Temple

Hola Elder Robertson-

Grandpa says, "Go forth... teach... for a mission call anywhere is to teach!"

You are blessed to be in Chihuahua. This is a region rich in the gospel of Jesus Christ, where stalwart saints of God lived by faith and prayers in organizing the Church in Mexico. They were sent by a Prophet of God. Nana's mother and father raised their 14 children there in Colonia Juarez, Colonia Dublan, Colonia Garcia and Casas Grande...etc. All are located in the State of Chihuahua. Maybe you will see the swinging bridge that she tells of crossing to go to school daily. Maybe you will visit the Academy de Juarez where they went to school and graduated. So many of your relatives are buried in the Colonia Juarez Cemetery! And the Colonia Juarez Temple! I saw that hillside when it was only apple trees! So beautiful!

You have a rich heritage in Chihuahua Mexico. Your great-great-grandfather rode with the Mormon men against Pancho Villa to regain their land and property which was taken from them during his time of plundering, robbing and destroying. Families were torn apart and he put your great-great-grandmother and children on a train to El Paso while he rode against Pancho Villa to take back what was theirs!

You will be a great missionary there! You are very blessed! The people of Chihuahua are blessed to have you there also. Be strong and enjoy these next 15 months that are quickly passing you. No one will be able to resist your beautiful smile and your love for them and the Gospel.

We can't wait to hear from you~! We pray for your success and strength in serving there. We send our love to you.
Forever, Grandma & Grandpa

October 25, 2010- A call to serve in Chihuahua Mexico

Dear Family and Friends-

We received news that Elder Cody Robertson has been called to serve in the Chihuahua Mexico Mission. This is where my family is from! It gave me chills. We know Elder Robertson has something special to do here. We support our leaders and know that he was called to serve in Chihuahua for a reason and he will grow and love the people there as much as he did in Veracruz. We love President and Hermana Hansen so much. They are truly awesome! We would also like to thank them for their love, kindness and example they have shown to Elder Robertson. They will forever remain close to our hearts.

October 18, 2010

This is Elder Robertson and a missionary serving in Veracruz Mexico that is originally from Arequipa, Peru. This is where Elder Robertson's little brother is serving his mission! Elder Robertson enjoyed talking with him and learning about the area Colton will be serving.

Hey Mom- I'm glad everybody asked about me and saw the pictures. I was thinking about Colton's talk the whole Sacrament meeting here in my ward. I loved Colton's talk and it was just awesome to hear how much of an influence I have been to him and to everyone. That is awesome that they sung the same special musical number at Colton's that they sung at my farewell! I love that song. I really miss dad. I miss playing basketball with him and love how much of an example he is to me. We are teaching a girl named Itzel. Her grandma is a member and she is ready to be baptized. We haven't had much luck of success here, but this last Sunday we had 5 investigators en la capilla. It was awesome. I can't think of anything else to put in the package, just solution with the contacts. Love you Mom & Dad

Hey Colton- I loved your talk! I almost cried reading it but I was surrounded by a bunch of mexicans so I couldn't let them see a big gringo crying. It would ruin my reputation! haha! Glad that the open house was great and how cool was that to give a blessing! Now you need to learn the blessing in spanish! You can do it! Everything is good with me. Just working to try and find investigators because I don't want to blank this month. We have an investigator for the 30th of October so we should be good with that. Love you bro. You're a brother and you'll be an excellent missionary.

Hey Tanner- Triste Nevada- no way! They lost to Hawaii? But OU is #1- at least it's a big 12 team. Do good in your game this week. Continue to read your scriptures and progress in Duty to God. Love you bro.

Hey Ty- How's your leg? Rest so you can play again. haha Uncle Mike is so funny! I love my new area but it's difficult at times. Continue to be an example to those around you. You are always watched. Love you bro.

Hey Cass- I heard that you received your blessing! It's so awesome to have your blessing- it's spiritual and it will guide you throughout your life. I have 31 baptisms so far but still lack my meta. Love you Cass and give Molli loves. Love you sis.

Hey Aunt Caecie- Glad that you had a great time with the family and friends in Oklahoma. I know that Colton is ready. We just need to put him in the MTC now and send him off. Love you tia!

Hey Aunt Cheryl- I've been thinking about you too. I wrote you but you didn't get it- I think. Thanks for everything and I'll kepp you in my prayers. You are always in them. Hope that you have a great week and travel safe. Love you tia!

Hey Grandma- It's okay that you wrote me twice! I love it! I loved Colton's talk and I love that you were all there to be with him. I'll write you more in your other letter. Love you Grandma

Hey Annie- My mission is awesome and I love it! I don't want to go home because I love Mexico so much! The people and food are amazing. I love it here! Continue to go to church and you will be blessed. Love you cousin

Uncle Mike- estoy muy agredicido que tienes una gorra bien chido con mucho amor elder robertson

Hope everything is great! I can't wai tto hear from you all next week.

con mucho amor-

October 11, 2010- "Colton's Farewell Weekend & The Blessing of Missionary Work"

Veracruz Mexico LDS Temple
Veracruz & sunset
Another amazing sunset in Mexico

Hey Dad- That's great that Tanner got 2 touchdowns on only 2 receptions. What a baller! Dang, that stinks that Ty is out for 4 games. I'm so glad he didn't have to have surgery. Wow, everyone is coming in on Wednesday. That's so awesome! What a special experience for Colton and for the family. Thanks for everything that you do for me and for the church. How's your calling going? Have a good week with the family and I'll be with you all in Spirit. Love you. Love, Elder Robertson

Hey Colton!
Wow... it came up fast, huh? That's awesome that everybody is coming down to see you. You're going to send me a copy of your talk, right?!? Have fun this week with the family and be safe. Love you bro. Just keep up the good work and keep your eyes straight to God. Can't wait to hear your talk. Everything is good here. Just working and trying to find new investigators. Love you bro

Hey Ty-
That just sucks that you can't play. I bet everybody is really bummed out. I hurt my ankle. It's really swollen but I'm still working hard and fighting through the pain. Have fun with the family and rest and get better. Love you bro

No maches Tanner usted dijo que va a meter una touchdown. que chido que va a jugar en varsity. a Nevada es 19 que padre. hahaha le gusta comer y beber aqua y jugo. hahaha Hey it's not practicar deportes it's jugar deportes for next time. haha gracias por su foto. me gusta mucho. gracias tenga muy buena noche. con amor- Elder Robertson

Hey Cass-
Congrats on your A's and B's! Keep working hard in school. And I'm so happy to hear that you will receive your Patriarchal blessing! What a special blessing to have. I'm good. This area is really cool and really hot so I'm doing good. Glad to hear that you have started to read the Book of Mormon. Try reading it in Spanish. hahaha! Have fun with Clay, Sarah, Aunt Cheryl, Jaecie, Aunt Caecie, Grandma and all the Robertson's. I will be there in Spirit and thinking of all of you. Love, Elder Robertson

Hey Mom-
I sent you a picture of the Veracruz Temple and 2 pictures of the amazing sunsets here. Thought you'd like to see them. Yes, conference was great to spend with President Hansen. The hurricane clean up was really fun and humbling. We received a lot of references too. Thanks for sending the package. For now, just be with Colton and worry about getting him taken care of right now. I am fine. Yes, I can last until November. Well, I want to transfer my pictures to a memory but I don't want to send the memory sticks because I'm afraid that they will get stolen. Dad should know what I need and I appreciate it. I really miss Reeses fast break bars and I don't know what else other than my contacts. Mom, you will be fine. I know you love us so much and it's hard to let us go but like you said, "This is where you put your faith and trust in the Lord." Remember that we (missionaries) are blessed with the Spirit and with protection when we leave our houses. Serving a mission is blessing not only to each of us, but to our families. Just know we love you in return. What an awesome experience and blessing to have 2 sons serving the Lord. Enjoy this time with your sisters, nephews, nieces, parents, brother & sister in laws and grandma and grandpa. Thank you for everything! Love you Mom

October 4, 2010... General Conference & A New Temple in Tijuana Mexico!

Elder Robertson
Elder Matadama
Cool Sunset in Veracruz

Hey Dad-
I loved the Priesthood session and this week was great! We were in zone conference and President Hansen was talking about how they (He & Sister Hansen) are our parents here in the mission, and they are here to help me and strengthen me. I love them! And at the Priesthood Session, I remembered always going with you and watching conference together. And this time, I was able to watch conference with President Hansen & President Hilton (The Temple President). It was so special. I felt like you were right there with me and I felt the Spirit so strong. I loved the talk about listening to your parents and the consequences you get when you choose not to. He didn't listen... and was bitten by a scorpion. And if we don't listen to the Spirit, we can get bit by Satan. I also like the fishing story and how Satan is just like a lure. We can let the fish go.. but Satan doesn't let go that easily. I love you and all the things that you do for me and our family. Thanks for everything dad. I love you. Love, Elder Robertson

Hey Mom-
I am sending pictures this week so look for them. They are pretty cool. I love Veracruz! I love the people in my ward and I love being right next to the Temple. I was able to watch Conference right next to the Temple. How awesome is that?!? Where did you all watch it? I did get to see President & Sister Hansen this week. We had zone conference and they both spoke. I had an interview and the first thing President Hansen said was, "I need 2 baptisms a week from you. How are you going to do it?" And I told him that I need to double the formula and work twice as hard. And he told me... well do it! We were also told that we need to go to all the people that were hit by the storm and do service and help them. I hope to teach them the gospel and the Plan of Salvation. So, that is what we are going to work on this week. I'm really excited to hear about your job! I love you mom and thanks for everything you do. Love, Elder Robertson

Hey Cass-
I loved the picture of you & Sister Murray. You are growing up so fast. Wait up and slow down a little bit-hahaha! My week is good. How awesome that we were able to hear the Prophet! And we had a great zone conference too. How was your week? Have a great week. I love and miss you sis. Love, Elder Robertson

Yeah Tanner, I'm going for Nevada to win this year. How cool that our hometown is tearing it up-haha! Padres always lose in the playoffs. When does basketball start? Tear it up at your game tonight and get a touchdown for your brother in Mexico! Love you bro- Elder Robertson

Hey Colt-
That's awesome that you are gaining muscle because you are going to lose it in the mission. Guess what? There is a missionary in my zone from Arequipa Peru. I was talking to him and he said that Peru es muy bonito pero no hay tortillas el dijo que tu vas a amor esta area y vas a aprender muchos cosas alla. I can't remember in English so I wrote it in Spanish. That's an awesome talk man! Send me it when you have it completed. I'm doing fine and I'm challenged by President every week so I'm staying busy. Love you bro- Elder Robertson

Hey Ty- Just shove those fat tight ends into the ground! haha! Wow! You guys really killed them. Good luck in your game this week and get more sacks so that colleges will look at you. Think of something that makes you mad and just utilize that on the other team. My week has been good. I loved conference and zone conference so much! I love being a missionary and serving the Lord. You'll love serving the Lord someday. Love you bro- Elder Robertson

Hey Grandma & Grandpa-
All the Elders from the Tijuana area were so happy to hear that there is going to be a Temple built. It was so cool to see the looks on their faces and the happiness that showed. I loved that talk by Elder Holland. It touched my heart. My favorite was in the Priesthood Session where they told us to listen to the Spirit. And I had the opportunity to watch the Priesthood Session with the President of the mission and the Temple President. It was so awesome! That would be so awesome if you could go with Colton in 2 weeks. He would love to see and be with his grandparents at his farewell. I love you and I love the work of our Heavenly Father. I love all the people in Mexico and I know that Colton will love all the people in Peru. Love you Grandma & Grandpa! Love, Elder Robertson

September 27, 2010- "Hurricane clean up"

Hey Family-

I'm great! My transfer was great! It was long. First we had to leave at 6 from Martinex de la torre then we made the 4 hour bus ride to Veracruz. This is where we met our companions. Yes, there is usually a person in your zone that travels to the same place as you. My companion is really cool! He is from Acapulco and he plays basketball. Hard to believe this... but he is a little taller than me! He reminds me of Tyler a lot. haha- he is way funny! My new ward is different but I really like all of them. I have an area of like 6x6 blocks. Really, really small. It is way different after coming from a huge area to the smallest area in the mission, but we have baptism dates so that is all that matters. I will send you pictures next week of my new companion and I.

This area didn't really get hit bad by the hurricane. We actually went with President and Sister Hansen to a place called Cardel- which really was destroyed. We were in Cardel for half a day on Saturday with a bunch of members of the church helping. We moved trees, dirt, house, everything that you can think of. I felt so sad for all the people that were there. They had water lines above the door. That is how high the water was. It was awesome to be able to help in the clean up efforts.

Tell Tyler that I loved his talk! I'm so glad you sent that to me. I will tell President and Sister Hansen that they were mentioned in the talk. No way... I can't believe that they (Tylers football team) lost by 1 point. That is so weak. It sounds like it was a great game & the boys they played are big farm boys too. Tell Tanner good luck in his game and that I'll be thinking about him. Tell Colton to listen good to Brother Widdison. It sounds like that will be a great FHE! Tell Cassidy to get well soon. Love you mom & dad. Have a great week and enjoy Conference. It is a blessing to hear from our Prophet and leaders of the church. The church is true.

con mucho amor-
Elder Robertson

Hey Grandma & Grandpa-

This week in Veracruz was really cool. Yes, it is way different because my area here is literally 10x's smaller than Teziutlan. We have an area of 6x6 blocks and that's all that we have. Not a lot of success here before. We found 2 new investigators. The people are really nice. I will actually be in the chapel next to the Temple during the conferences. That's great that you are doing missionary work grandma. You will get this awesome feeling inside when you are doing the Lord's work. Well, I hope you enjoy conference and I will be thinking about all of you.

Love,
Elder Robertson

Letter 09-20-10 "Your Testimony is the Greatest Gift You Have"

Elder Robertson by a cave!
Elder Robertson on P-Day Hike today wearing his beloved "Texas" shirt.

Hey Mom- That picture is of us and a member in our ward. He loves the missionaries and loves being with us. No, I don't have a fat lip. I don't know why my lip looks swollen- hahaha! Everything was good during the storm. We didn't really need to help anybody because it didn't really hit bad where I am. I heard Veracruz was torn up. But I really don't know much about it. And yes, we had what we needed. All is good here in Teziutlan. Actually, today is my last day in Teziutlan. I'll tell you all where I've been transfered at the end of this letter. All is well, the gospel is true and it's being spread throughout the world. What a wonderful blessing that is. Love you mom

Hey Colt- just take some medicine and you'll be fine. Allergies in Oklahoma are the worst. That's cool that you are learning all the phrases and are studying it everyday. I know that it's hard to study everyday... but it helps a lot. Everything is good with me. I'm just getting ready for my transfer. I'm pretty excited about this one. Not a lot of problems here... people just tell me that they don't want to listen or don't have time to listen. People try to Bible bash us, but when they hear our testimonies of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, then they don't know what to do. Your testimony is by far the greatest gift that you have. Use it everyday of your mission. No, nobody has even tried to hit or spit on me yet... but it's really because I'm like 2 of them-haha! Love you bro

Hey Dad- Sounds like Tanner did great! Is he really playing all those positions? That's awesome if he is. Tyler will win! Just make sure that he gets way pumped up for the game against Lawton. Colton is doing great. He is studying and he knows what to do. He knows who he needs to be and how to present himself. he is going to be a super missionary. I love my Patriarchal Blessing. I read it every Sunday and think about the words that it says. Thanks for the advice dad. I know I am the difference maker. Thanks for everything. Love you

Hey Ty- hahaha!! You just took out their best running back! That is awesome! We didn't really do anything during the hurricane. Just read and studied. The hurricane was pretty weak where I was. Thanks for the pictures of the stadium & field house. Sweet- you are way lucky! Love you bro

Hey Cass- I'm good! I'm just getting ready for my transfer. The hurricane was weak here but in the port I guess it was pretty crazy. I leave for my new area tomorrow. Thanks for your support sis. I love you

Dang Tanner! You guys are rocking it up! First game at home- just remember to knock someone on their butt for your brother in Mexico! Enjoy your week. Love you bro

Okay family! I know you've have been waiting for this! I am being transferred to..........................
Veracruz Sur- with Elder Matadama!! The chapel is right by the Temple. So, I'm pretty excited about the change! Love you all! Have a great week and know that I love you. The church is true.

con mucho amor-

September 17, 2010- Hurricane Karl

Hurricane Karl- picture taken from yahoo news
A woman so devastated after the storm- picture from yahoo news
Couple walks through a flooded street -picture taken from yahoo news

Hi Everyone! I just received a quick email from Elder Robertson. President Hansen wanted them to contact family & let everyone know they were okay. They are just "chilling" while the storm passes. Obviously they are not able to work in it right now. They are playing UNO with their district. Elder Robertson also wished his brother, Tyler, good luck at his football game tonight. What a brother! What he doesn't know is I just watched his brother on TV sack the QB- that was for you Elder Robertson!

At this time, we are all sending positive thoughts and lots of prayers to our Missionaries and the wonderful people of Mexico. As my niece Lindsey told me, "Aunt Christy- they are under the best protection possible right now." She is right. But the mom in me always worries.

Letter September 13, 2010- "I love my family!"

Hey Colt- Isn't the Temple amazing?!? I love going to the Temple. I can't wait to go through with you after your mission. You are so close to being in the mission field. I am excited for you! Oh... and I have that exact same tie you wore to the Temple. Alayna Tovar sent it to me. That is so cool! Don't trade that tie with anyone! Hey, spanish is spanish and we will be able to understand each other. Keep up the good work and go to the Temple as much as possible. You look like a missionary in the pictures mom sent me. I loved them!! Everything is good in Mexico. We found a family and we are going to baptize them either this week or next week. I am so excited!! Love you bro

Hey Mom- Wow! Just a little more time and you'll have two sons in the mission field. How great a blessing to have two sons serving and doing the Lord's work. I'll bet the Temple was great. I wish I could've been there with everybody. And also for Tyler's Patriarchal blessing too. How cool. So glad to hear Tyler was a captain at this last football game and that they won! Please film one game so I can watch it when I get home. Hey mom- glad you're feeling better. Just be careful with all that medication. Mexico is great. Transfers will be coming up shortly and I will find out if I go and where I will be going. Love you Mom

Hey Grandpa & Grandma R. - Thanks for everything that you do for me and my family. I'll bet the Temple was amazing. That is so cool to have your grandparents go with you through the Temple. I loved having both sets of grandparents with me. Glad to hear that you both are doing well. Love you- Elder Robertson

Hey Auntie Eileen- Thanks for the advice! I love my mission and I am having great success! I love being a missionary and serving the Lord. The only bad part of the mission is that it goes by way too fast. I don't want it to end. Love you- Elder Robertson

Hey Dilla- I'm good! I'm doing the same thing everyday and loving it! That's awesome that you have 100% attendance in seminary. Seminary is a great way to start your day. It is a blessing. Glad you're doing good in school. You seem happier. I'm proud of you. Always read your scriptures and pray daily sis. Love you sis

Wow Dad- All those people went to the Temple with Colton. We have a great ward family and family. Soon enough you will have two sons in the mission. How does it feel to have two sons almost out in the field? I'll be you feel great because I feel awesome about it! That's cool that Ty was a captain! Thanks for everything dad. Your support and love are greatly appreciated.
Love, your son

Hey Tan- Thanks for the Texas schedule. Can't wait for them to beat Oklahoma again this year. How did your game go? I'm great. Just getting ready for changes and finding people to teach. How do you like seminary? What are you guys studying this year? That's awesome that you have 100% attendance. Keep it up bud. Love you bro

Hey Ty- Sounds like you had another great game. My week was great. We found some people that accepted their baptism dates. Man, film one of your games! I want to watch when I get back. So happy to hear that you received your Patriarchal Blessing. Awesome! Love you bro- keep knocking people down! haha!

I loved ALL the pictures! Tanner is huge- no way! And Colton looks like a missionary. Cassidy is all grown up. Tyler is huge, but that's normal hahaha! And mom and dad- you look happier than I've ever seen you! I am a happy missionary knowing my family is doing so well. I love the Lord. I love doing His work. And I love the people of Mexico. The church is true. Have a great week.

Letter September 6, 2010

Hey Mom- sounds like last week was a blast. I am so proud of Tyler. He is going to do so good this season in football. Everything here is good. Hope that you feel better and ask dad to give you a blessing. Regarding the picture of Elder Meza and I with the wood- haha... yeah I carried it most of the time and he just was carrying it because I wanted to take a picture! I don't have my camera with me today because I'm in martinez de la torre. I will try to get pictures to you next week. Feel better mom. Love Elder Robertson

Hey Cass- That's great that you love school. Yes! I helped Elder Meza carry the wood! haha! We play soccer almost every p-day and I was goalie and when I ran for the ball everybody gets afraid of me and runs away. It's pretty funny! haha! Love you Sis

Hey Colt- That's awesome that you got your Temple Recommend. Go tot he Temple as much as you can before you go to the MTC. My companion is doing great. We are one heck of a team. Yeah, Mexico is great and I'm just getting ready to leave but I got to fill up the tank here first before I leave. That's awesome that Ryan is already in the mission field. The first week is always weird but only because you don't know the language. But after that first month... you start to recognize words and putting things together. Hope you have a great time at the Temple. Give everyone hugs for me. I will be thinking about all of you on Saturday. Love you bro

Hey Tyler- Holy Moly!! An interception!! That is so incredibly awesome!! How far did you get before you got tackled? I was so shocked to hear that you got an interception! That's awesome man! Sounds like you had a heck of a game... QB sacks and tackles! You were on fire! So your offense needs some help... that stinks. My week was great but not as great as your week! That's so cool bro. Keep it up and just keep putting people on their backs like the movie... Remember the Titans. Love you bro

Hey Dad- That is awesome that you have no voice! It sounds like the game was just awesome! I love the talk you gave Ty before the game. I would've been so pumped up if you would've said that to me. haha Tyler got a penalty for roughing the passer! That's so awesome though! I wish I could've seen him just lay out that baby! haha! That's awesome you have sons that everybody looks up to. And it's because we have a dad that we looked up to and we followed. I am thankful for you & mom. Without you both... I would not be who I am today. I'll be the difference maker just like you said. And I will be baptizing and bring more people to the truthfulness of this gospel. I am truly a leader and everybody in this zone looks up to me. Thanks for everything dad. Love your son, Elder Robertson

Hey Tanner-Hey dude... just give it some time and start knocking kids down and don't hesitate because if you hesitate they will think you're scared. Love you bro. And that is GREAT that Manu saved the BYU game! He always does that. Just keep me updated on Texas. Thanks bro. Keep up the great work and you will receive the blessings from it. Love you- Elder Robertson

I love this work and I'm so glad that I chose to give my two little years to serve as a representative of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Have a wonderful week and know that I will be thinking of all of you as you are in the Temple.

con mucho amor- Elder Robertson

August 30, 2010- The power of Priesthood Blessings

Elder Robertson & Elder Meza, "Helping this old little man carry wood that seriously weighed 80 pounds." Now... who was carrying the wood? ha! They're taking turns, right?
One of our areas called, "Alto Tonga."

Hey Dad- This week has been pretty good. I was able to exercise my Priesthood authority by blessing a member that was really sick in the hospital. Today, we found out that she is going home and that she is getting better. It was awesome to know that through the Priesthood we can perform ordinances that other people can't do. How did the dance go? Colton is way ready for his mission! His spanish is almost perfect and he just needs the experience in the field and he will be a super missionary. Love you dad. Have a great week and take lots of pictures for me.

Hey Mom- Oh, wow! Colton is an Elder! That is awesome that all those men were able to stand in. I'll bet the Spirit was really strong. That's really awesome! I loved the pictures you sent me. The football scrimmage looked so fun. How hot is it there? Good for Cassidy to start working. She is awesome! Seminary started here last week and now we are able to get our converts to go. They are really excited! I wish that I could go through the Temple with you guys. I love it so much. We will be able to go through the Temple here in December with President Hansen. Yeah, they are all members of the church that are apparently adding me on Facebook. They are all cool. Don't worry, they know that you're managing my FB while I'm serving my mission. That's really awesome that Foster sent me a shout on FB. Tell him, "Hi from Mexico." I seriously cracked up when I read Elder Smith is now serving in Tonopah! haha! That is hilarious! He is going to love it though. Here's a message from President Hansen- He said to comment on the blog... they love what you write. And also, could you please spread the blog address to the other Veracruz mom's/dad's/families? (done!) Love you mom. Thanks for the updates on everything. That is what I look forward to reading on P-Days.

Hey Tanner- That is good that you made a kid cry. Make a kid cry every game-ok? haha! Just keep me up to date on Texas. Good luck in your game tomorrow and know that I will be thinking about you. Tell dad to take more pictures because I love them. Love you bro- buenos suerte

Hey Ty- you only have 4 classes? Lucky kid- hahah! That's awesome that you are starting but tomorrow you need to get a picture of everything- including the new stadium so I can see it! I'm doing the same thing... working hard and contacting everybody in the streets and trying to baptize every week. These past few weeks have been hard because all of our baptisms we had to drop because the parents wouldn't give permission for them to be a member. Good thing though, we have a family that we are working on baptism with so either this week or next week. Hey- good luck against Yukon (puke-on)! haha! Love you bro

Hey Cass- hope you have a great week in seminary! It's the right way to start your day off. And I hope you get the job that you want. Love you sis

Hey family & ward family- have a great week! Do what is right and always be an example to others. The church is true.

con mucho amor-
Elder Robertson

PS- I loved the emails between Elder Robertson and my parents this week. I thought I'd share:

Hola Elder Robertson!
I was asked to share an inspirational message for the "Sister to Sister" RS newsletter for the month of September. I used YOU and your mission as my inspiration for our ward sisters. I shared President Hansen's blog address with the ward and talked about the inspiration it is to me to follow your mission via the internet blog and the lives that are being touched by the missionaries in Veracruz Mexico Mission. Just one mission's experiences in building up the Kingdom of God upon the earth. I then just had to share a recipe for "Zucchini Chocolate Cake" too! ha! Thank you for being our wonderful grandson and for sharing your life with the Lord these 24 months of your life to share the gospel message with the beautiful people of Mexico. We hope your week was great! We always look so forward to hearing about your week! Your pictures are amazing. We are happy to tell you that we know missionaries never forget those they teach and those who feed and love them and their "families" away from their families. This week, Grandpa and I were honored to open the door to Elder Olson and his parents from North Carolina. He wanted them to meet us and we heard him relate to them, "Good food, a sweet spirit in our home and always loved here." That was quite a blessing and honor for us to hear. We know you love the people around you! We know that's the way the Lord wants it to be. It was so fun to listen to 3 mothers of missionaries in our ward tell of their son's missions and the blessings they are receiving in their homes by supporting their sons on missions. Cody, you are a blessing to your family. Have a wonderful week. We love you with all of our hearts! Grandpa & Grandma

Hey Grandma & Grandpa- Thanks for sharing me and the Mission Mexico Veracruz in your RS Newsletter. What a wonderful experience it is for all of you to read our stories and view pictures on the blog(s). The people are very humble here in Mexico. Grandma- I want your zucchini chocolate cake when I return home. That is what I want! How awesome was that to have an ex-missionary bring his parents to meet you. You both are very loved and always make others feel special... especially through your cooking! I am the lucky one- I love your food and I miss it a lot. Tell Grandpa hi and give him a big hug for me. Love you both & thanks for everything- Elder Robertson

Letter 08-23-10- "Remember to Pray"

We are so thankful for President & Sister Hansen's inspiring blog!
When I saw this picture of the Elders & Sisters dressed in white... the tears just started running down my face. That's what mom's do. Look at those beautiful and valiant smiles!! It just touches my heart. Wish I could jump in the picture and give everyone of them a hug. They have worked so incredibly hard.
Per President Hansen's blog..."Bauti-zonas are pretty hard to come by, but there were four in June-2010. Three took place in la Zona Teziutlan, all in the same month. These are the missionaries. Elders Castillo, Quintero, Gil Jimenez, Castro, Canseco, Goodworth (Shelley, ID), Sisters Anguiano and Cavillo, Elders Parker (Orem), Gonzalez Ojeda, Trujillo, Robertson (Oklahoma City), Lizama, and Dunn (Louisburg, Kansas but he claims Texas).

I love this picture which is also taken from President & Sister Hansen's blog. Our family sure does love our beloved Elder Gil. We look forward to meeting him someday. Elder Robertson looks good and happy. He tells us often how much he loves the people of Mexico.

This is another touching picture of Elder Gil and Elder Robertson showing some true missionary work. Per President & Sister Hansen's blog... they worked hard helping this couple obtain a marriage license.

And with the marriage license in hand... she was able to be baptized!
*Thank you again for sharing pictures President & Sister Hansen! It's made our week!*

Hey Cassidy- That's cool that school has started and that you are happy with your classes. Don't slack off! haha! Study a bunch. It's good to hear that you & Tanner are excited for Seminary. Both Sister Moen and Brother Stott are great teachers. Football is going to be fun. Take lots of pictures for me. I'll bet that Colton is ready to leave for his mission. I know that he is ready. I really appreciate your love and support. Love you Sis

Hey Tanner- How's football? What position are you playing? (cornerback & inside receiver) You will do great against Union. I can't wait to see more pictures. I'm happy to hear you're so excited to attend seminary. Continue to do well in school. I can't believe you're a Freshman. Remember... people are always watching you so be an example. Choose The Right! Love you bro

Hey Ty- Mom emailed me a picture of you and WOW... you're freaking tall!! You've always been tall but you must be growing still. Four sacks too?!? Awesome! Keep up the good work! I know you're going to tear up Union this Friday. I still want to see the pictures of the new weight room and the field. Tell dad to take some pictures for me. Hey- I know how exhausted you are after all those practices and games along with homework... but I'm going to challenge you to attend seminary this year. It's such a perfect way to start off your day. You will be blessed too. You know I'm right. Study hard this year Ty. Enjoy your Senior year. Love you bro

Hey Colt- That's cool that Brother Widdison is coming over for FHE! Yeah! Look at all the pictures and tell me all about it and what you think. I do know that you are going to have a blast on your mission! Work hard and trust in the Lord. Everything will fall into place. Don't worry about the food. Are you excited to go through the Temple? You are going to love it! Go through a bunch of times before you leave. President Bean encourages it. You're going to have fun going through the Temple in spanish in Peru. That is awesome! Wow... I will be thinking about you on Sunday when you're ordained an Elder. That is just sweet! I'm so proud of you. Love you bro

Hey dad- Thanks for the pictures! Tyler is HUGE! What's the news on the scholarship? Who is looking at him? How much does he weigh now? Can't wait to see pictures of both Ty & Tanner during their games. Sister Hansen told me that she finally put up pictures and she is glad that someone is looking at them (We- family & friends- are addicted to their blog! It's fabulous!) This has been a great week!! We placed 3 more dates and they all accepted. We should have another bauti-zone the 4th of September. That would be great if you all sent me your testimonies so I could share it with my investigators! I will keep praying for the family like I always do. You are a great example to me! Thanks for everything! Love you dad

Hi Mom- That story is incredibly awesome! You are right... Heavenly Father does have a hand in all things! Please tell your friend to remember to pray. Does he have a Book of Mormon? If he doesn't, give him one and tell him to read Alma 42- all of that chapter. And you all should talk about this as a family and why it is important to read the scriptures and to repent of the things that we do wrong. Nobody is perfect and all of us need repentance. Actually, this would make a great FHE. Also, if your friend has the desire to change and the desire to be a better person, then he will be!! He just needs something in his life to keep him away from the temptations of the world. The church is where he can go to forget about the world and to start a new life. Hope that everything is good. I look forward to hearing about the progression of your friend. I will pray for him mom. You put his name in the Temple too. Continue to be an example to him. He will love you and always remember what you have done for him. Mom- I love you. You are truly amazing and you do have such a Christlike love. I've always admired when you're in tune to those things. I really love you Mom

Love you family & friends! Have a great noche de hogar (Family Home Evening). I loved the pictures of Ty, Tanner & Cassidy this week. And I look forward to the email next week with pictures of Colton. I will think about all of you... especially on Sunday.

Have a great week and remember to pray. The church is true!

con mucho mucho amor-

Letter- August 16, 2010

Mom- That's so cool that you got to go to the Temple. We will go through as a mission in December. My week has been good. We had 1 baptism this week. I baptized a 16 year old boy named Marco. It was pretty cool. Some boys that are getting ready for their missions got to be the witnesses and see what it's like to be a missionary before they leave. Elder Meza is great. And yes, I received the picture of Ty at the football scrimmage and Jaecie. She's getting big and Ty looks great! Today we ate with a member so it was pretty sweet and bien rico. I bet you loved those pictures huh?!? haha! I'm not really tan though. I'll find more pictures to send you next week. And if you send a package... please send a usb thumb drive with it so I can back up all my pictures. Colton will need one of these too for his mission. Have a good week. Love you Mom.

Hey dad- that's awesome that Tanner is playing football. Now you can send me more pictures of Tyler picking on kids and Tanner scoring touchdowns. I look forward to that! Wow, Colton is going through the Temple soon. He is going to love it so much. Sounds like Tyler is on fire and is doing way good. Is he just knocking kids down? It's not surprising that he's starting. Yes, I saw the new Duty to God pamplet and it sounds like a lot of things are new and more things to do. Get your Young Men on that! It's a great program and they will love it. Love you Dad

Hey Cass- I don't need highlights... I'm already blonde! hahahahaha! That's weird that school starts Friday. That's awesome that you had fun at camp. I'm really excited that you're receiving your Patriarchal Blessing. You're going to love it and it will help you throughout your life. We are very lucky that Grandpa is able to give us those special blessings from our Heavenly Father. Have a great week. Love you Sis

Hey Tan- That is so awesome that you're playing football! I hope you are working your hardest and starting. That's awesome that you're taking Spanish for the whole year. You better study hard so you'll be able to understand Colton and I when we get home from our missions! haha! Dodgeball... that was always fun! No new food here. Just the same...tacos hahaha~ but I love them a lot! Dang... you are getting tall! So, are the Padres still in first place? And what's up with the USA basketball team? Love you Bro

Hey Ty- I heard that you had a big scrimmage and did awesome! We have an area like an hour away that we received references from so we are going up there to check it out. Yes, I ate that rabbit. It was pretty good too. We were at one of our converts homes. They are great. Take a picture of your weight room at the new field house. I want to see what it looks like. And send one of the new stadium too. Thanks bro. Love you and have fun in school!

Hey Colt- bueno que usted no trabaja domingo or lunes descansan. mi espanol es mejor pero necisito estudiar mas como usted. Don't worry about the food. Just start eating everything you can right now. Practice makes perfect even if it is spanglish. Someone will help you out. It's weird, but I have to translate spanish to english sometimes. Every word I say, I translate it. Yep, Uncle Travis is right. The silk ties bleed through. I don't have any silk ties... so I'm good. Keep up the good work. Keep reading & studying your scriptures and your Preach My Gospel. Love you bud

I love you all. Have a great week. Keep the commandments and CTR! The church is true.

Mission Conference 2010- What a good looking group of Elders & Sisters with awesome President & Sister Hansen! I love this picture!

Elder Robertson in his room?

Elder Robertson with real bunny ears. Don't ask!

Elder Robertson & Elder Meza- It looks like they are soaked from the rain.

Hey Cass- It sounds like camp was awesome! I wish that I could go rafting & camping but I love doing missionary work right now! It is the best! Anyway- I'm glad you had a blast with all the girls. Wow- school is coming up fast and that's cool that you're getting braces! Love you Sis

Hey Tan- Nothing new with me. I'll bet you're Colton's height- That's cool! Does he dunk it like crazy? I can't wait for football to start either. Ty is going to have a great Senior year! Keep working hard at basketball and you will be great in High School! Keep reading your scriptures! Love you bro

Colt- Hey everything in Mexico is great and getting better. We have some baptisms coming up and I'm excited. Tell Bean the MTC is awesome! That's good that you want to start your mission. It does go by way too fast. Colt a aprender espanol usted necesita el deseo y el espiritu santo. yo se que si usted trabaja y siempre habla en espanol se va a aprender mas rapido. su espanol es bueno hermano. Love you- Elder Robertson

Tyler- You're going to be fine! Just work hard like everyone is telling you! Yep- what sport do you want to play- soccer or basketball cuz I'll beat you in both! haha! Love ya bro

Hey Dad- I'll bet your talk was awesome. I wish I could've heard it, but I'm glad the Spirit was there. Is Tanner getting better at basketball? Because he is sure talking like he is way better than me and that's not possilbe! ha! You need to keep showing him up, okay? haha! On a serious note, everything here is good! We are teaching like crazy. I am here for another month and a half for another change which is good! I love it here! Thanks for everything. Love you Dad

I've hit the 6 month mark! (Letter 08-02-10)

(Since Elder Robertson was unable to send pictures this week, I've posted 2 pictures taken from President & Sister Hansen's blog. The first one is when a group of new Elders arrived in Mexico. President Hansen wrote, "And then, on April 5th, we got some great new missionaries. They are Elders Ruiz, Caudillo, Teliz, Corona (who came back to the mission from ankle surgery), Valdez, Robertson, Carpenter, Faisal, and Serna.)
Thank you for these pictures President Hansen!

"These are pictures of the "then" (April 5th) new missionaries and their trainers."

Yeah Mom... it's weird that I have hit the 6 month mark on my mission. It's flying by way too fast. Tyler Bean is going to the MTC next week and he is going to LOVE Mexico! And Ryan is in Brazil and has been out a month. November will be here shortly and then Colton will be out. Time just goes by way too fast.

Please tell Brother Bryan hello for me. I have been thinking about him a lot lately. He was always such a great example to me. I actually use a lot of the things that he would talk about when we went Home Teaching- like the way that he approached & taught. I am using that and I am extremely thankful for him. Please tell him thank you and that I miss just talking with him. I love the Bryan Family.

We found some people to teach in one of our wards so that was good this week! Also, we have 2 baptisms this week... maybe 3. Elder Meza and I are doing great and loving missionary work. The computer I am on today is not cooperating so I won't be able to send pictures. We will try again next Monday. Love you Mom

What's up Tan-Man? Yeah man... the tacos here are really good! I love them! Yep... go for Texas and just Texas! I know that the chargers are going to be horrible because they were stupid and traded everyone. Continue to pray & read your scriptures. Love you bro

This week was great Colt! We are just working hard. Are you studying your spanish? If not, make the time to study it! (I know you're working long hours) When are you going through the Temple? Love you bro

Hey Cassidy- I'm glad you've had a better week. Remember what I said about loving those that are hurtful. What counts is that you are doing what you are supposed to be doing. Just keep smiling and love everyone. I know that can be difficult. Have fun at camp and tell me how it went in your next letter. Love you sis

Hey Ty- That's cool! Last week of hard football. Wow- school starts soon. Enjoy your Senior year and don't slack off! Yeah, here the kids are the same as in Oklahoma. The young men down here are cool. A lot of them love to play sports. Love you bro

Hey Dad- I love that talk by President Hinckley. President Hansen uses it all the time. It's really inspiring to hear. I'll forget about the numbers and lose myself in the work. I know that the blessings will come. I can't think of anything for your FHE talk. I do remember our FHE chart/board with our responsibility that we rotated. That made it fun for me. I think we were happy when we had refreshment duty! haha! But really- it's just about being together as a family. I cherish those memories now. I'm sure that you are having a blast with all the Young Men. You're the right person for that calling. Have fun this week and tell everyone hello and thank you so much for everything. You & Mom are great examples to not only myself but my siblings. Love you Dad

Love you familia! Have a great week!

Letter 07-26-10

Hey Mom- we had a baptism this week... a boy named Mario. His whole family are members except for his dad. He went to Youth Conference and loved it! He called us and said, "I want to get baptized." It was way cool! My mission in Mexico has been great and is getting better! Bad news, I have my camera with me but not my cord so I'm unable to send pictures this week. We are in Martinez de la torre and so I didn't think to bring it. The story with the bunny ears is that we were at an activity and I put them on and a little girl took my camera and took a picture. It was funny! Tell the Hansen's again how much I loved their package. It was great and everyone in my zone loved it too. Well, the gum! ha ha! I wouldn't give up my seeds! Zone conference was all the changes in the mission and we learned that we always need to be working and working diligently. I've had a great week and I'm glad to hear you had a good one too. Love you Mom

Hey Tan-man- I'm good & just busy. My companion is awesome. We get along great. He has a brother in this mission too. That's cool that the cousins came down and you had fun with them. That is way cool. The food is good. We eat a lot of tacos- like all the time. They are great! Love you bro- keep practicing basketball cuz you're going to get beat in a year and a half! ha ha! And keep reading your scriptures. Love you bro

Hey Colt- yeah- that is a good scripture. How's your spanish coming along? Things are great here. One question- are you going to beat my record of baptisms? You're going to love your mission. Just remember to work your hardest and with all your heart. Right now I have 27 baptisms. That's cool that the cousins came down. Keep up your hard work. Love you bro

Hey Dad- I heard that you hit a home-run every-time you got up to bat at the picnic. ha ha! That's my dad! Cool that President Southward asked about me. Tell him and Sister Southward hello for me next time you're at the Temple. I'm growing up so much here- more spiritual than anything. I love the work and the way that I work is with diligence. I'm glad that you had a good week. I had a good week- we had a baptism at the last minute and we got our bauti stricto it's when all the district baptizes. It's cool because it was my comps first one! Love you dad- thanks for all your support.

Hey Cass- Have fun at girls camp and let me know how it goes. Remember to treat those who are not so kind with Christ like love. I'm glad dating is going good but when i get back those boys are going to be scared because I'm going to be talking to them in spanish and confusing them! So, just warning you now. Cass- read all of The Book of Mormon by the end of the year. I have read it twice on my mission in 6 months. I know you can do it. Love you sis

Hey Ty- My week has been great. We had 1 baptism to a kid that is 15 years old. My new companion is great. Did you hit a home-run too? We played soccer for P-Day today. It was our zone activity. We played against the soldiers in Martinez and we lost- but they cheated! ha ha! I'll send you more pictures next week. I'm glad you all liked the pictures last week. Love you bro

Have a great week everyone. Always remember to pray daily and read your scriptures. Tell our ward Elders hello for me.

Love, Elder Robertson

Letter 7-19-10

(We asked Elder Robertson for a picture of him wearing his glasses as we hadn't seem them on him. The picture with the bunny ears is an added bonus... ha ha! I'm sure it's from an activity. He didn't elaborate on it. )

I received my package from The Hansen's and I totally loved it!! Tell them thanks a ton! Elder Meza lives 5 hours from Colonial Juarez. Elder Gil was fine. He is ready to go home though, I think. He told me to always be thinking about my investigators. I will forever remember that. Elder Gil was transferred to Papantla (up North). Yeah, his mission ends in 3 weeks, I think. I'm going to work hard to get at least 101 baptisms. I have almost 30. We had 4 baptisms last week.

Mom-Wow! I love Grandpa's truck! I can't wait to see it in person. Very Sweet. Thanks for the pictures. Sounds like Grandpa had a great birthday!
I wrote President Bean and answered all of the questions. I'm sure they are excited for Tyler to begin his mission. I loved hearing from them last week.
That is awesome that you used my words in your RS lesson. It is always good to teach by and with the third companion, the Holy Ghost. But you also have to be worthy to have the Holy Spirit with you. We are doing good in Teziutlan and we are waiting and searching for people. We are really being patient. Guess what? Two people just showed up at church and said, "I want to learn more. When can you come and teach me?" It was AMAZING! We already have dates for them and they are really excited about getting baptized and receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost. It's amazing the blessings of being worthy to have the companionship of the Holy Ghost. Love you Mom and I'm so thankful for your example. Love you Mom

Dad- Diligence is the one thing that President Hansen loves and I need to be diligent in all that I do to be made Senior Companion, District or Zone Leader or AP. It is also necessary in my study if I just read something... it's not studying... it's just reading. But, when I study... I learn more... like spanish! Without studying... I wouldn't know the language at all. Hey, I am playing a lot of soccer here. We will play when I get back. Love you Dad

No Tanner... I haven't seen any rude people and yes the Thunder is going to win the championship next year. I'm good like always. I'm working hard and bringing souls closer to God and teaching with all my heart. I have heard that talk! It's awesome to teach! How's basketball? How tall are you now? Love you bro

My week was good Ty. We had 4 baptisms this week and we completed a family so I am way excited about that. You need to listen to mom and dad! Really! So how long are you grounded for? My companion is tight and he doesn't really speak english which is good because I can learn more spanish! Be good! Love you bro

Colton-My new companion is tight. He is really short and is really funny! He is from the Mexico Tampico Mission and he is new to the Mission Veracruz. So, I am basically his dad in the mission. Which is tight. I'm just working hard and finding families. I can't wait for you to go on your mission! You're going to have a blast serving! Love you bro. Keep reading your scriptures and keep studying your spanish.

Cassidy- who was your first date? Yeah- if you feel you are ready for your Patriarchal Blessing that is awesome! Yes, those boys that added you on FB are in my barrio here. One is going on a mission in August. That is cool. I bet you are way ready to go to girls camp. And that's really cool to hear you are 2nd Counselor in Laurels. What a blessing to have a calling. Love all the YW and be an example to them. se fuerte and always remember that you are a Daughter of God. Love su hermano meyor

Hey Close Family (my sister & her family)- I'm doing great here! I have a new companion that is great! I am really into soccer now (I never thought I would be) but it is way fun! I love playing on P-days. Everybody is amazed when I play basketball because I slam dunk it here! ha! I'm busy with lots of investigators and I was challenged to beat the gringo record of 101 baptisms by President Hansen. So, I'm working hard. Sounds like everything is great with ya'll. That's good that you're getting settled in. Moving is not fun. You should just move to Oklahoma... haha! But for the survey... 1- I love Reese's Fast Break. 2- idk what I can't get here so sorry on that one. 3- I love Pringles and they don't sell those here in Teziutlan. 4- Pudding cups would be great! I love ya'll (yeah, I'm from Oklahoma... haha!) Love, Elder Robertson

Wow Grandma! That is so true! It's so important to listen to the Spirit and to the men who hold the Priesthood. I'll bet the funeral was very spiritual and such an amazing experience! I love you grandma & grandpa! I love being a missionary of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The church was restored on this earth and I love to wear the name of Jesus Christ on my chest everyday. I love you all so much! Love, Elder Robertson

New Companion! Letter 7-12-10

Dear Family-

I miss all of you but I am so incredibly happy and honored to be a missionary of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and to be carrying the name of "Jesus Christ" on my name tag. It is an amazing service with so many blessings. I love every minute of it!

I love the people of Mexico. They are also funny! It seems like everyone wants to take a picture with the big white guy- ha ha ha! My spanish is getting better. I can understand about 90% of it now. I can talk in conversations. We eat pollo a lot here with every meal. And did I mention every part of the pollo? Everything in Mexico is great and the people here are still hung up on soccer which is cool. I actually love playing it. And yes, it rains everyday on the mountains.

My new companion is Elder Meza! He is from Chihuahua (like the dog) and he is really awesome! He is from the Tampico Mission. He is a hard worker and loves the missionary work like I do. We have at least 3 baptisms this week (maybe 5-not sure yet). President Hansen told my new companion that I am a "milagro" and that I know how to baptize! My goal is to beat the gringo record of (101 baptisms)... just watch me! We are finding more people everyday that just want to hear about the gospel. I am really excited that we have zone conference this Thursday here in Teziutlan. It is always great and I love to see and talk with President & Sister Hansen.

Thanks dilla (Cassidy) for the pictures. They were awesome and you look so pretty. Hard to believe my sister is 16. Have fun at football frisbee! Love you sis.

ha ha Clayton! get me a juice box- funny kid! Where does he come up with this stuff? And grandpa's truck looks awesome! Love the color!

No way Lebron, Dwayne and Bosh! That's crazy! And I'm happy to hear Durant will be with the Thunder when I get back. How was the canoe trip? I bet mom was mad that you got sunburnt, huh?!? ha ha! She always says, "Make sure you re-apply the sunscreen" and somehow we always miss a spot. Yes, I do remember the testimony meeting last year. That was so awesome and really spiritual. I'll never forget it either! Love you guys.

I received a letter from Tyler Bean today. It was awesome to hear from him! I need President Bean's email so that I can email him back with all the answers to the questions he asked me about Mexico.

I have a question for everybody- how did you feel when you heard that Colton was called to Peru? I want to know because I wasn't there when he opened up his call. I still cannot believe that he guessed his mission. How did he know he was going to serve there?

I spoke with President Hansen about the package and Uncle Forres. He was bummed to hear about Uncle Forres. He said that the package would be in good hands only if I share it with him! ha ha!

I want to let my family, ward family and friends know that I chose to serve a mission for our Heavenly Father because it is my sacred calling as a worthy holder of the Priesthood. I hope that all young men are working daily and setting a goal to serve a mission as well. I have spoken many times in my letters home about this. Continue to keep all the commandments, pray before you read your scriptures and after, and always remember to be an example to others. Treat the Young Women with respect. I promise you, the heavens will be opened and you will be blessed beyond what you've ever imagined. I am working hard to be the best missionary and to continue to be an example to all of you. It is always a highlight of my day to hear from you. Letters are very important to missionaries. And although I might not be able to respond to all letters, I appreciate them so much. I love you all and thank you for your support that you continue to give me. I am just working hard & I enjoy being a missionary.

The church is true!
Con Mucho amor- Elder Robertson

Letter 07-05-10

Ty- That is sweet that you get to go on the canoe trip. Hope you all have fun! 52 miles... that's awesome! How's football? any schools looking at you yet? No new companion yet. I had 1 baptism this week so I'm now up to 23 baptisms. We went and played soccer today as a zone. It was so sweet! The computer that I am on right now is alright so I will try to send pictures. Love you bro.

Hey sis- I'm good. I am working hard and baptizing. I have 23 baptisms now. I don't have a new companion yet. I bet you are excited about camp. Just strive to be the best and to be the example to everybody there. You are going to have a lot of fun. ha ha- mom didn't forget and you couldn't buy fireworks this year! That is so funny when she caught you- actually all of us! Mexico is great! I don't want to go back to the States... I am loving my time here serving the people & the Lord. Seriously, the people are awesome! Love you sis

ha ha Colt! Clayton is so funny! Soon, he will know more about Peru than you do! When is your ward talk (farewell)? Has Bishop given you your topic yet? Just keep working and in the mornings study your scriptures and Preach My Gospel. That is awesome that you are working hard though. Mexico is awesome. Most people are very sad because they lost in soccer. Keep up the good work! Love you bro.

Tanner- That's awesome that you are going on the canoe trip! Have fun and don't cut your foot in the river (last scout outing Tanner went on he cut his foot open). Yeah dude.. dunk it (basketball) for me if you can. Tell Shad hey. Glad he's playing ball with you guys. ha ha- you miss my potatoes man?!? That's awesome!! I don't eat a lot of potatoes here. Continue this week with reading your scriptures and setting goals! Love you bro.

Hey dad- I had octopus today. It was actually pretty good. I liked it! We are baptizing and working so hard here. I set a goal for at least 100 baptisms, and I work everyday to accomplish that. I am working hard at studying the language and my scriptures. I love hearing your testimony. How's your calling going? Anything new? I know that If I continue to work hard and do what the Lord expects of me... I'll be good.

WOW! You are right mom, what a legacy that Uncle Forres has left for all of us. What a great role model! You know that he is with Aunt Carmen, his parents and siblings. What a reunion they are having in heaven! And I'm thinking of Jacob too. Hard to believe it's been 8 years. I agree with Aunt Caecie, he is serving his mission in heaven. Families are Forever. I love you Mom.

Tell the Murray family that I am receiving their Dear Elder letters and I will write them next Monday when I have a little more time. And thank you! The ward doesn't realize how special and important it is to hear from them. It really makes our day! ha ha- I love Nola and Ross! They are so cool. Tell her it shouldn't be a problem and I will call President Hansen today and explain about the package.

I was really happy to hear that Elder Hawkley is officially out on his mission. How blessed our ward is to have 2 Elders currently out... soon 3! Remind the ward family to write! You just don't know how important it is.

I am working hard to do everything that I can do to reach my goal of 100 baptisms. We are very busy here and it is an honor to represent Jesus Christ and our church. Remember to do you part by Keeping the Commandments, reading your scriptures, having personal and family prayer and also loving one another. The church is true! I love sharing it with my brothers and sisters in Mexico.

I love my family. I love you mom with all my heart. Tell everybody I love them and to write!

con mucho amor,
Elder Robertson

Letter 6-27-10

Hey Tanner! No new foods here. We eat a lot of tamales, tacos and eggs. I am up to 22 baptisms now, so I'm working hard to keep it up. Look up missionary work and look up the scriptures in D&C. Those scriptures are modern revelation to Joseph Smith about missionary work. Keep on reading & studying your scriptures. Hope basketball is good for you right now. Hope you have a good week. And are you going on the canoe trip? Love you bro.

Hey Cassidy! Happy 16th birthday! Have fun! I'll bet your room looks awesome. ha ha the dance was la fiesta themed? Did you have a pinata? Wow, youth leader at camp? That means that you have to be an example to all those girls that you are in charge of. You'll be great. I want you to read a scripture- Mosiah 13:20 and think about what it says. I love you so much sister.

Hey bro (Colt)! Happy Birthday! Hope it was great! That's a good job you have! Don't drop it! Do all that you can to keep that job as it's really good pay. Even if you go to church for Sacrament Meeting do it. And keep talking to your boss. I promise you, it will work out! Trust me. ha ha ha I loved the picture of you and dad with the sombrero hats! Oh, don't worry about having to eat guinea pig. Just try it! I have tried things here too. ha ha~don't worry about the food though, just eat a ton in the MTC and you'll be fine. I have 22 baptisms and I have 3 more this week so I'll have 25 by next Monday. read the scriptures that I told Tanner to read. It will help you in your mission and read the scriptures in Preach My Gospel. Do you have el libro de mormon? Start reading it in spanish to get your accent down. Even if you don't understand it. Love you bro. Keep up the good work and don't worry about the job thing. Pray for the right decision.

Hey Ty- it sounds like they need to announce the youth dances or send out reminders. It does sound like it was fun though. Man, the canoe trip will be so much fun for you guys. I can't wait to hear about it. Where are you guys going? And for how long? Hopefully you will get this job with Colton. That would be sweet. Love you bro- keep up the good work y se fuerte.

Hey Mom! My week has been good. We had 2 baptisms this week and we found out that one of my convert families are getting ready to go to the Temple to do baptisms for the dead for the first time. This is very exciting becuase in less than a year they will be sealed together in the Temple and I will be able to be there with them and see it! I am so incredibly stoked! Elder Gil is here for another week because the changes from the mission Tabasco are not until next week. So, I'm still going to be in Teziutlan. We have 3 baptisms for this week so we are working really hard to to make that happen. We are also working hard to get new investigators too. We contacted 140 people just to get 1 baptism. Elder Gil and I are working very hard on missionary work! That's pretty cool that Kirsti joined my blog. And tell Zach- Denver North! That's so awesome! He will need to know that this will bless him in all his life and that if she loves him then she will wait for 2 years and it's not the end of the world. That's cool dad loves his calling. I knew he would. Yep, I received Aunt Cari's package! I loved it and I loved the sunflower seeds and the poptarts! Tell them thank you and I love them very much! Their support means the world to me. ha ha Clayton is so funny. I love his little sayings. I laughed pretty hard when I read that! I'm happy they got their house! Love you Mom

Hey Dad- With the Young Men just keep them going to church and keep reminding them of the importance of serving a mission. If you engrave serving a mission in their minds, they will always remember that it is important to serve. Goals is something we teach people here in the mission. And how we need to work hard to achieve our goals and never fall short. Wow! How many missionaries are going to be serving? That is awesome that they will have a lot! Just keep the ball rolling and make sure the Young Men are being examples. I will hit my 5 month mark on July 3rd. Time is flying way too fast here. I don't want to leave. I love baptizing and teaching the people here in Mexico. I know that you felt the same way in Korea. Are you watching soccer? Tell Colton to start playing soccer again. I finally gave into soccer and I am loving playing it! ha ha weird huh?!? I love the pictures of the sombrero hats and your peace signs. ha ha! Love you dad- have a great week!

Love you family. Hope that you have a great Family Home Evening tonight. Remember to always be an example to those around you. The church is true and I love being a missionary and serving the people of Mexico.

con mucho amor,
Elder Robertson
