Letter 3/31/10

Stripling Warrior & Mother
(picture above is by Del Parson- "Farewell My Stripling Warrior")
Dear Family,
Well, I received my Visa last Thursday. Only myself and another Elder from our District got them. Please pray for my District that their Visa's will come through. We will fly out on April 5th. And I have a lay over in the great state of Texas! =] I do have permission to call you. When will be a good time? I would love to be able to talk to everyone. Do you think they could miss a few hours of work/school? Write me on dearelder and let me know.

The package was great and the cookies were not stale. (I think Cody is being nice. The package was 14 days late) Thank you for everything!

Yes, Elder Fast is in my District and his mom is on missionary mom's. He is really cool.

That is funny that Colton was looped up- ha ha. But most importantly, I am thankful that he's doing so well. That's amazing that the Dr. gave you half off on Colton's wisdom teeth. It is a blessing that they did that. I have seen what blessings I have had for serving a mission.

Tanner, congrats on winning 2nd place in the writing contest. And the Savings Bond is an added bonus. Thanks for the updates in basketball. Now I just need the NBA-haha!

I am so excited for General Conference and I can't wait to hear the words of our Prophet and leaders.

I met an Elder from Veracruz and he said that I will have a blast there. Can you believe I will be in Mexico in less than a week? My time in the MTC has really flown by. I can't wait to get to Mexico and meet President & Sister Hansen.

Please make sure you mail my birthday package quick. If not, I won't get it until I am in Mexico. Thanks mom and dad. I hope that everything is going great. I can't wait to call you next week. It will be good to hear all of your voices. Tell everyone hello. I LOVE YOU ALL!!

Love,
Elder Robertson

Letter 3/24/10... The Lost Package

package
Dear Family,
I haven't received my package yet, but I'm sure it will be here today or later this week. When did you send it? (We sent the package on March 17th... where is it? Please pray that this package will get to him. It contains his glasses which are much needed!!)

That's good to hear that Tyler is doing good after his surgery. I'll keep Colton in my prayers. It's good that he's getting all this done early for his mission. Cassidy is going to make a great Mia Maid President! Tanner, thanks for the basketball updates! Everyone in my district loves March Madness and I am the only one that gets updates (obviously that is what little brothers are for). It's good your spanish is going good. By the time I get back, we will be able to converse in spanish! Very cool!

It is snowing here a lot and nobody really likes it. It will sure be a different story in 2 weeks!

Please tell Brother Bastian and Brother Leeper that I am sorry for their loss. I am praying for them.

Yep, I got some awesome cookies from Aunt Norma. I am writing her a thank you note later today. I'm also asking her to give Trevor my address and say "hi" for me. He is very cool. I will look forward to meeting him someday.

Bishop and the Hawkley family sent me some of their famous rice krispie treats with chocolate on it. They were pretty awesome! I heard about Ryan's mission call. That is pretty sweet that he is going to Brazil. There are a whole bunch of Elders going to Brazil on our floor. Ryan will do great.

Congratulations to Lexi for making the JV dance team.

I had the pleasure of meeting Uncle Curt's Mission President a week ago. He is pretty cool. I told him where I was serving. He also asked me to tell Uncle Curt hello.

We had the opportunity of hearing from a member of the seventy and he told us how we need to build our testimony for those that we are going to teach. I always look forward to hearing from our leaders. I relay to you all that you might take it into your daily lives. Keep building your testimony!

I am doing my best. I love each and everyone of you. Keep me updated on everything through dearelders. I love those!

Love,
Elder Robertson

Hey Family!
That is so exciting that Colton has already started his mission papers! He is going to have a blast here in the MTC. It's such a cool experience. I have learned so much here. Colton, start now by going over the lessons in Precidad me Evangelio (Preach my Gospel) Chapter 3 and start marking your scriptures.

Tyler, glad to hear you bore your testimony. Remember to keep focused on what matters the most... your eternal progression! Good luck with having your wisdom teeth out on Friday. I will be praying that everything goes well. And have fun in football and work hard.

Cassidy... keep up with your Personal Progress. I'm happy to hear you're working so hard to earn that. Keep it up. Give Molli a hug for me. I'm sure she's enjoying going on walks with you.

Tanner, keep being an example and keep reading your scriptures every night. BYU is cool. I'm very happy that you made the choice to not play baseball on Sunday. I know that was hard to quit the tournament team. But look what an example you've been by keeping the Sabbath Day Holy. Have fun with basketball, keep excelling in school and you're life will be set for you.

I hope that you all know how important it is to pray before and after you read your scriptures. The Spirit will guide you. I promise you that.

Please tell the Deacons/Teachers and Priests to start reading Preach my Gospel and start studying now. It helps when you know what the lessons are going to be when you get to the MTC. Please tell the Ward hello for me. I really enjoy the letters that are being sent to me on dearelder. Please keep them coming. They make my whole day.

My favorite companion here is Elder Heinhold. He's very cool! Our whole district sings in the choir every Tuesday and we are pretty much the bomb! LOL! Seriously, I think that the choir director is the same one that dad had when he was in the MTC! LOL! I am actually enjoy it. =]

Elder Quentin L. Cook from the Quorum of the Twelve came and spoke to us last night. It was incredible and I felt the Spirit so strong. I just remember feeling so comforted. Go and read D&C 112 and you'll know why it is so special to all missionaries. He told us that we are blessing ourselves, our family and our future family by our missionary efforts. His message really told me that I want the best for my kids and grandkids. I want them to remember what I have done for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at this time. I know I was called at this time for a reason, just like the missionaries that served under Joseph Smith in the depression of 1837. We are in a depression and people need to hear some good news! We as missionaries are going to be the ones to tell them that! Isn't that cool?!? We should be hearing from President Ballard next Tuesday so that will be really fun. I'm really looking forward to that.

Spanish is coming along. Thanks for the family fast. I will know next week our plans for Mexico. I can't believe it's almost time to leave the MTC.

Please tell everyone to write me on dearelder. I love hearing from everyone and it means so much to me. And please tell Elvis thank you & to write to me. He is one very special person to think of me. I still can't believe he did that! I'd love to hear how their family is doing.

Mom, it's so good to hear from you and the family almost everyday. I really look forward to dearelder letters. I love you Mom and Dad. Thank you so much for your example to me and for teaching me the gospel of Jesus Christ. It has really helped me here. I pray for you everyday.

I love you so much,
Elder Robertson
P.S. Please tell people to send me dearelder letters!

Dear Family,
This week was a good week. Yesterday we had the opportunity to hear from the Presiding Bishop of the Church. It was amazing! He talked about how we need to have the Spirit in our lives all day long. It was one of the times where I truly felt the Spirit.

My roommates are leaving to Argentina on Monday so it will be weird not having them here. Their names are Elder Moncur and Elder Bair. They will be great missionaries. My companion and I are great. I don't know what I would do without him. My district is great and we all get along awesome and it's because of the Spirit. Our District President just got released because he is going to be the Mission President in Japan! How cool is that? He has truly brought our zone to be the most obedient zone in the MTC. Our new Mission President's daughter served her mission in Korea. I have been telling them that Dad served there.

We are learning lots of Spanish. We are teaching the Plan of Salvation this week and so we are just practicing now.

Every Wednesday I have attended the Temple. The first week, I did a session. The second week, I had the opportunity to do sealings for the first time! It was amazing! Then last week I did a session. Tonight I'm going to do initiatories so that will be fun. The Temple is such a wonderful place.

Please have the Bishop put D&C 18:10 on my plaque: "Remember the worth of souls is great in the sight of God" And my release date is February 6, 2012.

Please send Snickerdoodles and Peanut Butter cookies please-lol!

Thank you so much for the letter Cass- I loved it! But, I think you spelled your sentence wrong in Spanish because it didn't make any sense. It sure made me laugh! Try again and write me on dearelder

Tanner that is so cool that you did a good job on your talk in Sacrament Meeting! I can't wait to read it. I'm getting used to the food here and Spanish will take time. All I do is study! I'm getting excited to leave for Mexico!

I have heard from and received a package from Aunt Cari, Aunt Cheryl, Auntie Eileen and Uncle Lynn. Thank you! I need letters! Packages are great too! I need everyone's addresses to send letters!! Thanks for sending Mom! Keep writing me throughout the week. You don't know how important it is to receive letters.

That's cool JJ got in touch with you on facebook. I need to write him and see how he's doing. Please get his address for me and give him mine on dearelder if you haven't already done so.

I love you all very much and I pray for you all every day. Remember who you are and always Love One Another.

Love your Son & Brother,
Elder Roberson
